Sassafras Cultivator Coat | Black

€900.00

The Cultivator coat combines the design of fishing, hunting and military jackets for rugged functionality. Like all SASSAFRAS garments, everything stems from gardening and cultivation, and the name of this coat is inspired by the relationship between the wearer and garment growing over time.

Our Oisín so eloquently describes this coat as a workwear version of a mac. It’s just so unreal. Its design replaces the pockets of a 1960s-style fishing jacket with pockets intended for gardening tools. City folk can replace gardening tools with bottles of craft beer. There are pockets everywhere and different types too - front and back, inside and out. What might look like just one front patch pocket is actually three separate pockets that can be accessed different ways. If you’re a couple (or thruple) who like a hand inserted in your back pocket as you stroll, this might just be the coat for you.

The Cultivator coat is made from a durable Japanese nylon weather cloth commonly used in military garments. It’s water repellent and moisture-permeable to protect you against the elements, yet lightweight and breathable. A storm tab around the collar will keep you feeling secure in this one. It certainly combines workwear practicality with SASSAFRAS’s garden-inspired aesthetic. Made in Japan.

This coat is worn over the SASSAFRAS Overgrown Hiker Vest and Tender 457 shirt in our photos.

  • Made in Japan

  • 100% nylon weather cloth (Japanese fabric)

  • Brass snap buttons

  • Colour: navy
