Sassafras Overgrown Hiker Vest | Black

€510.00

What’s in a name? Well according to SASSAFRAS owner and designer, Takashi, this ‘Overgrown’ Hiker Vest reflects the different aspects of cultivation and growth, as gardens and plants grow, spread and become… overgrown. Since its beginning SASSAFRAS has been devoted to gardening and cultivation, combining utility and function into the design of each garment.

The Overgrown Hiker Vest is a functional tool vest with piped utility pockets. We are huge advocates of pockets here at Nubes and this vest has pockets for days - front and back, inside and out. Inspiration comes from military tool aprons, but SASSAFRAS adds serious detail. The front pockets house a slide pocket for easy access, patch pocket and piped pockets for your tools and bananas or whatever you folk like to carry these days - an inverted pleat brings them all together. Inside the vest, details continue to the highest degree with the large patch pockets finished with the same beautiful buttons that remind us of a mussel shell.

It’s a hardy vest whether you have green fingers or not - made from Japanese ripstop fabric with a smaller weave for enhanced durability. Wear it over a hoodie, shirt or long-sleeve tee for when you’re feeling bare (we’ve styled ours over the Tender 457 Frock shirt).

Also available in navy.

  • Made in Japan

  • 100% nylon ripstop (Japanese fabric)

  • Brass snap buttons

  • Colour: black

  • Sizing: Slightly oversized (Oisín and Aoibhin wear size M)

SASSAFRAS is a Japanese clothing brand that reinterprets workwear through the practice of gardening and the philosophy of cultivation. It’s not merely clothing inspired by gardening, but garments designed as tools for cultivation.

Every garment is conceived as a practical tool, where utility, function and the experience of use become part of its design.

SASSAFRAS looks to workwear, military, outdoor, sportswear, traditional and native clothing for inspiration. All garments are made in Japan.
