Tender Co Type 457 Frock Shirt | Rinsed
You can rely on Tender to create a solid shirt that’s so wearable yet so unique - and that’s exactly what the Frock shirt is. It combines elements of a three-pocket work shirt and a tailored frock coat.
The fabric is cut across the grain with no side seams, while the shoulder seam slopes back from the centre of the neck towards the back of the armhole, where it connects with the sleeve seam running along the back of the sleeve to the cuff. This method of cutting recalls 18th and 19th century dress coats.
The 457 is one of the first Tender styles made in the US with American fabric. It’s made from a lightweight cotton pyjama with a lovely texture that’s well suited for warm weather. The shirt is sewn with all-cotton thread and finished with dyed cotton-covered metal buttons and a Made in USA blue label. The deep scooped tails look equally great layered under a jumper. Worn here in a size 2.

Tender Co. is the creation of designer William Kroll.
Tender specialises in rare techniques to produce very unique garments often using deadstock fabrics and natural dyes. All products are made in small runs. Tender garments have all been made in England until the brand relocated in 2025, shifting production to USA. Due to the engineering and ‘slow’ ethos behind the construction, each item can differ to the next, for a truly special piece.
