Tender Co. Type 467 Bound Edge Flipped Collar Shirt | Hadal
Introducing The Bound Edge Flipped Collar Shirt dyed in hadal blue barge cotton calico. A perfect navy shirt that’s lightweight and loose-fitting with oversized pockets. A wear with everything shirt, it looks as good buttoned up as it does open. Tender designer, William Kroll, describes this shirt as “an experimental tangent on the way to developing the 468 Flipped Collar Shirt”.
As with the 468, the front placket is reversed and stitched down on the outside, creating two large central pockets placed low for a natural, comfortable hand height. The collar, too, is inverted - its longer edge sewn into the neckline rather than the shorter, more conventional side. In this iteration, the entire edge of the shirt, including the collar, is finished with a continuous sweep of ecru cotton bias binding. The idea was to follow earlier bound edge shirts to their logical conclusion, and in the process evoke traditional pyjama jacket construction, with white piping around a blue body and white linen covered metal buttons. This contrast is rendered more or less subtle by the hadal garment dyeing after the shirt is finished.

Tender Co. is the creation of designer William Kroll.
Tender specialises in rare techniques to produce very unique garments often using deadstock fabrics and natural dyes. All products are made in England in small runs. Due to the engineering and ‘slow’ ethos behind the construction, each item can differ to the next, for a truly special piece.
