Tender Co Type 402 Two Birds Shirt | Flowerpot

€350.00

A shirt you’ll never have to iron and that’s down to the American cotton drop cloth, woven in the USA. A fabric initially used by Sherwin Williams, a paint company founded in Ohio in 1866, its intended use is as a drop-cloth, a hard-wearing fabric to cover floors and furniture during interior painting. Despite sounding sturdy, it’s soft and comfortable, getting even better with wear.

As we’ve come to expect from Tender, the 402 Two Birds Shirt showcases the very best of pocket design. Using one line of pocket stitching, two pockets have been cleverly created on both sides of the shirt front in the form of patch pockets and deep chest pockets that can be accessed vertically.

The fabric is cut sideways, with no shoulder seam, creating a soft biased shoulder which stretches out and softens as the garment wears in. The shirt is sewn with all-cotton thread and finished with dyed cotton-covered metal buttons and a Made in USA blue label. It’s from the first batch of shirts made in the US with American fabrics. Worn here in size 3.

Tender Co. is the creation of designer William Kroll.

Tender specialises in rare techniques to produce very unique garments often using deadstock fabrics and natural dyes. All products are made in small runs. Tender garments have all been made in England until the brand relocated in 2025, shifting production to USA. Due to the engineering and ‘slow’ ethos behind the construction, each item can differ to the next, for a truly special piece.
