Frank Leder Wool Duster Coat | Navy
Do you own a “fuck you” coat? Well, this Frank Leder Duster coat is just that. Cut to a longer length than, say, your average wool coat (Frank is a tall man you know), it’s the simple but perfectly executed details that make this coat so special. We’ll start with the fabric - a sturdy vintage wool from South Tyrol, “probably from the 1960s” Frank recalls, that he found at a tailor’s place who was closing down in Innsbruck, Austria. It’s just the most beautiful, weighty, quality navy wool you want to be enveloped in on a cold day. The coat is unlined and features raglan sleeves so you won’t get caught out if you’ve smaller or bigger shoulders. The raglan sleeves also give it that structured unstructured look.
Turn around in this coat however and that’s where all the action is. Frank is the master of an arrowhead tack - a clever tailoring technique for reinforcing a garment. On the back of the coat, what looks like a triangle design splits into a very cool inverted pleat that also gives movement without adding bulk. The coat is complete with pockets and corozo buttons.
Here Oisín has worn his over the Frank Leder navy striped shirt.
