Conkers Relaxed Farmer Shirt | Spore

€440.00

A relaxed fitting shirt crafted from bouncy Irish linen with casein buttons from the Cotswolds, handmade in England by Conkers. Those who know us at Nubes know we love a grid pattern, we also love a relaxed fit and we’re Irish, so there are endless reasons why we can’t get enough of this shirt. The Tattersall cloth used for the Farmer Shirt was developed bespoke for Conkers by Emblem Weavers in Wexford, Ireland, so it really is a one-off. Tattersall is a traditional check pattern that was originally developed in the 18th century for horse blankets, but found its place as a shirting option in the wardrobes of country folk by the late 19th century, often worn with tweed jackets - today it’s the look of an edgy geography teacher. Due to the delicate nature of this loose-weave linen, mismatched lines should be embraced as a trait unique to each shirt. The design of the shirt is finished off with an interesting straight hem that can happily be tucked or untucked (but we think it’s worth showing off).

  • Handmade in England

  • 100% Irish linen

  • Bespoke Tattersall check from Emblem Weavers (Wexford, Ireland)

  • Zig-zag top stitch under-collar

  • Straight hem

  • Casein (milk) buttons from Conkers’ Cotswolds button factory

  • Heritage school name tape labels from Cash’s (UK)

  • Hand-stamped limited edition label

  • Garment washed

Conkers is a clothing brand from London inspired by the slower pace of British life and always paying homage to local artisans, craftspeople and mills.

Through the use of natural, locally sourced fabrics, Conkers designs beautiful garments of ‘organic indulgence’ - timeless clothing that is an extension of the environment around us. Due to the finite nature of the fabrics, only very small runs of products are ever created and all made in the U.K. The beauty lies in the provenance, the details and ultimately harmony with mother nature. Start collecting Conkers, we say.
