Everybody needs a wool overcoat in their life and we believe we found the perfect one: the Utile coat by Arpenteur.
It’s made in France in a beautifully thick wool melton that has been used by Arpenteur for more than a decade. The carded wool is a traditional pure wool fabric woven in France by a historic mill founded in 1865. It’s tightly woven and and fulled to offer excellent protection against the elements come wind, rain or the cold (we’re no stranger to that here in Ireland). The coat is fully lined in cupro, which is a plant-based fabric, and feels silky when worn.
With an emphasis on details and construction, Arpenteur has this insane ability to transform garments into something sleek, sharp and modern. Take the collar and its raw edges, or the concealed button placket (or ‘fly front’) whereby only the top button is on show. The coat also has raglan shoulders so it’s more relaxed and can easily be worn by the guys and gals. There are pockets lined in cord no less and a pocket inside for your valuables.

Arpenteur is a menswear brand from Lyon that epitomises classic, understated, French elegance.
The construction of their garments combines the utilitarian quality of workwear, outerwear and sportswear with French precision. It was created by Marc Asseily and Laurent Bourven in 2011.
All Arpenteur garments are entirely made in France in order to preserve and continue the heritage of local menswear manufacturing.
