1st PAT-RN Woman Rei Jacket | Navy
Sometimes you put something on and you feel different (in a good way) - you can’t explain it but this is the case with the Rei jacket. It’s so effortless it has its own persona.
The jacket is based on a historic garment from Silvia’s personal collection: a work tunic of the Japanese army which dates back to 1943. Yet 1st PAT-RN has put its own touch to it. The shoulder has been dropped a little to fall in a very specific way so it’s proportionate - you will understand this entirely once you wear it. It features a slanted pocket, one of the characteristics of the collection, alongside rounded welt pockets and slide slits which are found on the original jacket. Inside it’s unlined and features a very beautiful detail of open seams with contrasting thread.
But that fabric lads… An exclusive fabric produced in Lombardy, it has been developed with a slub indigo-blue cotton warp, dyed reactively for wash resistance, and a cotton weft with a slight slub effect. It’s called textured raddoppiato. The double-faced weave gives texture to the outside but is smoother inside, and is designed to soften up over time, making the fabric unique. It’s a wonderful fabric when it’s warm outside (and when it’s not).
Also available in a charcoal cotton-linen version.

1ST PAT-RN is a clothing brand from the Veneto region of Italy, formed in 2012 by the ever-tasteful duo Cristiano Berto and Silvia Piccin. A brand not concerned about fashion trends, gender or themes, they create beautiful garments that are timeless, functional and wearable. This is a couple that goes granular in detail. Each item is one of deep research, controlled production and thoughtful design, inspired by military, workwear and outdoor garb. Their passion for sifting through vintage markets and collecting all types of products undoubtedly influences every single garment, yet they have a serious talent for making clothes that feel very much in the now.
1ST PAT-RN works directly with local mills in the Veneto region to design and develop exclusive fabrics in limited quantities aligned with their production needs. Everything is made in Italy, from the garment itself right down to the labels, buttons and zippers.
