1st PAT-RN Woman Forma Skirt | Fused Checks

1st PAT-RN has developed a skirt that we consider to be pretty perfect. And there are only 26 worldwide! Everything from the length to the shape, pockets (!!) and waistband (we’ll get to that) strikes the perfect balance - and that’s without even mentioning the unbelievable fabric. 

The design of this skirt began with a study into the balance between length and volume, which has certainly been achieved. The shape naturally drapes from the waist into a free-flowing silhouette that is beautifully flattering on the body and isn’t too voluminous. In a clever design detail, the waistband is elasticated only at the back so you have all the comfort of a stretchy waistband but without anyone knowing it.

As with all good skirts and all good designers, this one has pockets. The pockets are applied internally and their stitching remains visible on the outside, referencing a detail typically found on classic fatigue trousers. The skirt and pockets are lined in Cupro Bemberg™ and pure cotton (the exclusive yarn by Asahi Kasei) in an almost hidden detail that provides softness and comfort. 

The wool and cotton fabric is a deconstructed check produced exclusively in Veneto. The textured effect is created by combining different yarn cuts, including mouliné to give a less graphic and more textured appearance. Inspired by Italian fabrics from the 1980 and 1990s, it reinterprets the traditional pattern with a more unconventional character.

1ST PAT-RN is a clothing brand from the Veneto region of Italy, formed in 2012 by the ever-tasteful duo Cristiano Berto and Silvia Piccin. A brand not concerned about fashion trends, gender or themes, they create beautiful garments that are timeless, functional and wearable. This is a couple that goes granular in detail. Each item is one of deep research, controlled production and thoughtful design, inspired by military, workwear and outdoor garb. Their passion for sifting through vintage markets and collecting all types of products undoubtedly influences every single garment, yet they have a serious talent for making clothes that feel very much in the now.

1ST PAT-RN works directly with local mills in the Veneto region to design and develop exclusive fabrics in limited quantities aligned with their production needs. Everything is made in Italy, from the garment itself right down to the labels, buttons and zippers.
